The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Burn Center Application (BWH Burn App) is the first application to allow registered clinicians throughout New England immediate, 24/7 access to a burn surgeon from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. This allows clinicians direct access to world class experts in burn management and resuscitation to help treat patients with burns, schedule outpatient specialist follow-up, or facilitate emergent transfer, as needed. Registration to the platform requires a verified email address and agreement to the BWH Burn App Terms of Services.

The BWH Burn App also provides a handy set of free resources for the management of burn patients that are available to all users, without registration. These resources, along with more information about how to contact the BWH Burn Center are provided as a supplemental educational resource for healthcare providers and not meant to replace professional medical/clinical care. Patients with burn emergencies should call 911.

Brigham and Womens Hospital (BWH) is a Level I Trauma Center in Boston that provides emergency resuscitation and care for any injured patient. Multidisciplinary surgical and medical treatment is managed by on-call trauma attendings who work together with trauma specialists in the areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and radiology. The BWH Emergency Department sees more than 8,000 trauma-related visits annually, and more than 2,000 of these patients are admitted for further trauma care.

BWH is verified as a Burn Center by the American Burn Association and American College of Surgeons. The Burn Center, which is one of few burn centers nationwide led by plastic surgeons, provides treatment and follow-up for patients with minor to severe burns, as well as those who have suffered from burn injury and seek a better functional and aesthetic outcome. Burn and plastic surgeons work closely with a strong, multi-disciplinary team including occupational therapists, physical therapists, dietitians, social workers, and skilled wound care staff.
